~~~The Mayan Theory~~~
The question has wandered into peoples minds this past year and it might have followed a few into this year as well.The question remains a mystery,will there be another "doomsday" like the Mayan priests recorded?So far,they haven't been wrong.World War 1 was dated at the same date time it started.The Mayan culture recorded the 21st of December in 2012 to end.This is interesting. 21-12-2012 is not a day like any other. Up in the sky, an extraordinary and incredibly rare event will take place. The Sun will move to a unique spot in the sky -- and hold still for a while, since it is solstice day. The Sun will sit precisely on the heavenly crossroads between the Milky Way and the galactic equinox, forming a perfect alignment with the center of the galaxy.Well: the night time sky is crossed by several mathematical lines. One is the axis of the Milky Way -- the Milky Way, as you may know, being that bright band of stars you can see running across the heavens on a clear night. Another important line is the cosmological ecliptic: the axis along which the constellations travel, the line that defines coordinates in space.
You have to give them credit though.They know a lot about stars and constellations.It seems like they are superhuman or different beings.For instance, they calculated the exact duration of a year to a thousandth of a decimal point, much more precise than any Greek or enlightened philosopher ever did. Also, they were able to predict every solar and lunar eclipse until this day. And obviously, they knew where the galactic equinox and the exact middle of the Milky Way lay,they called this crossing `the Sacred Tree'.2012 will mark the coming of a new, glorious age of wisdom and peace. It will be Age Of Aquarius at last, with a world full of peace, love and understanding.The reasoning behind this is actually not that stupid. The Maya's didn't really believed in endings: their conception of time was circular, with every end being the beginning of something new. So, 2012 shouldn't be an exception.
December 21st 2012 will be the day on which this inner cosmos is reconnected to the divine outer cosmos. The Sun will mount its unique position to form a `gateway' between the Universe and the souls of every living creature on Earth. Our linear conception of time will crumble, and with it, fear and hatred will vanish. It will be purification at it's very best, when everyone is soaked in cosmic understanding and divine love.
December 21st will be the day the Earth will be destroyed. Some think it will be because of some nuclear war, some say it will be because it's biblical judgment day. Even others take the ending of the Maya calendar more literally, and claim the Universe will just cease to exist.
The Maya divided their Long Count into five lumps of time, called Great Cycles. And every cycle had a well defined end. For example, after period number one, a Jaguar came by and ate everyone on Earth. The second cycle ended in air, the third in fire, the fourth in flood. And what about the last period, the stretch of time we're in? The Earth will be destroyed by earthquakes, is the interpretation some scholars give to the etchy-sketchy remains of the Maya culture.And what about that awesome phenomenon of the Sun sitting in the heart of the Tree of Life? Well, that happened before. The Sun passes the Tree every 25,800 years. That's a lot of years, but since the Earth exists for an astonishing 4,5 billion years, the Earth survived the `divine event' more than 150,000 times already!With the end of the 4th cycle comes... the beginning of the 5th cycle. The Maya believe that in the 5th cycle the ancient wisdom of the Maya will be rediscovered by the world and it will be a new dawn for mankind!
What's more, the last six times the phenomenon occurred, modern humans already walked the planet. Obviously, it didn't have much effect on our spiritual lives. It certainly didn't stop the Spanish from butchering some 800,000 Maya's in the sixteenth century.
Research
Scholars from various disciplines have disputed the idea that a catastrophe will happen in 2012, suggesting that predictions of impending doom are found neither in classic Maya accounts nor in contemporary science. Mainstream Mayanist scholars argue that the idea that the Long Count calendar "ends" in 2012 misrepresents Maya history.To the modern Maya, 2012 is largely irrelevant, and classic Maya sources on the subject are scarce and contradictory, suggesting that there was little if any universal agreement among them about what, if anything, the date might mean.Meanwhile, astronomers and other scientists have rejected the apocalyptic forecasts, on the grounds that the anticipated events are precluded by astronomical observations, or are unsubstantiated by the predictions that have been generated from these findings.NASA has compared fears about 2012 to those about the Y2K bug in the late 1990s, suggesting that an adequate analysis should preclude fears of disaster.
It remains a mystery,will the world end in 2012 and begin a-new?
~~~The religon of Christans,Jews,etc. say different about the theory of the 5th Stage.~~~
Religous parts for Christians and all religion have different perspectives of doomsday.I will show you a paragraph or so about these since in I get into detail too much,this would become difficult. For many, the notion of doomsday arises from religious prophecy that has passed from generation to generation for thousands of years. Religious prophecy has spawned doomsday concepts such as the Second Coming, Armageddon, the Apocalypse, End of Days, Revelations, the Rapture, and Qiyamah. This Doomsday Guide section points to online resources that identify and discuss Armageddon, the Apocalypse, End of Days, Revelations and other doomsday concepts from religious prophecy. But we don't stop there. End of the World scenarios aren't unique to western religious prophecy. So we devote space to the distinct doomsday concepts found in eastern religious prophecy too.
~~~The Anti Christ~~~
You might be wondering about this.The Anti Christ?In Christian end times prophecy the Antichrist is a false Christ. Usually thought to be an individual (although some believe the Antichrist to be an entity or system), the Antichrist amasses great power and gains popularity and support from the masses by seeming to be a benefactor or savior, yet who in reality is the embodiment of godlessness. The Antichrist and his Satanic cohorts will wreck much havoc during the Tribulation, but they will eventually meet their match at the great battle of Armageddon, where God takes them out for good. Like most other elements of Christian end times prophecy, there are lots of online resources that examine the Antichrist topic.
~~~The Rapture~~~
In Christian end times prophecy, the Rapture is an event where the faithful will be literally snatched from the Earth and taken up to heaven in the blink of an eye. The faithful who are not part of the Rapture are left behind to deal with the Tribulation, a period of immense suffering before the world ends. The Rapture is a relatively new element in Christian end times prophecy and Christians do not universally accept this belief. Even among those who believe in the Rapture, there's considerable debate about the timing of the Rapture, with some believing it will occur before the Tribulation while others believe it will occur during or after the Tribulation.
~~~Armageddon~~~
Armageddon, the final great battle between the forces of good and evil, is the time of final judgment in Christian end times prophecy. It is a prophetic event preceded by the Rapture, the appearance of the Antichrist, the Tribulation and the Second Coming of Christ. Similar elements (an Armageddon like battle, great turmoil in the World, and savior and false savior figures) can be found in certain non-Christian end times religious prophecies which are examined elsewhere in Doomsday Guide. In this section of our guide we provide a representative set of resources that focus on Armageddon, the final great battle where the forces of good defeat the forces of evil.
~~~The Tribulation~~~
The Tribulation, according to Christian end times prophecy, will be a period of immense suffering that will precede the end of the world. The Tribulation is thought to be a seven year period marked by unimaginable calamity and suffering arising from wars, massive earthquakes, great storms, famine, disease, pestilence and assorted other natural and man-made disasters. The resources below focus on the Tribulation and its integral role in Christian end times prophecy.
